Work
Throughout Milton Glaser's 65-year prolific career, he has made a name from himself designing posters, publications, logos, and architectural designs.
I Heart NY Logo
NY Department of Economic Development, 1976
His most famous and prolific work was commissioned by the New York state department in 1977 during a time of economic downturn to promote tourism by giving New York a new image. Anyone who has heard of New York has seen the iconic logo “I [heart] NY” on t-shirts, signs, pins, mugs, and pretty much anywhere else.

Bob Dylan Poster
Columbia Records, 1966
One of Glaser’s most prominent designs at Push Pin studios was a poster created for Bob Dylan that CBS Records commissioned to be put in every package with the album, Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits, which was then hung on walls across America. The design featured a dark silhouette of Dylan, which was inspired by one of Marcel Duchamp’s self-portraits, and a crown of psychedelic curls upon his head.
